After what seemed like a never-ending journey from London to Entebbe via Nairobi, we finally arrived in Uganda last Sunday to begin an exciting mission of film assignments for NetHope, DRC, and MSF to document to work they’re doing supporting refugees from South Sudan in Northern Uganda.
Here’s our very first vlog (filmed specifically for social media purposes!) of us arriving in Uganda, and making the most of the scenic 8hr journey up to Arua…
This is in fact our first trip together as a team – both of us having worked in Uganda on separate assignments previously, so we’re no stranger to the country however it’s always exciting to be back, especially for such a challenging yet meaningful mission!
Our first assignment with NetHope is to produce a series of short films showing how connectivity provided by NetHope and partners is changing the lives of refugees from South Sudan in Northern Uganda. So far we’ve been into refugee settlements in rural Arua and heard lots of testimonies on the power of ‘being connected to the world’ – look out for our behind the scenes footage, and keep an eye out on the NetHope blog in the following weeks for our guest blogs!
